Outings

Kindly arrive at the meeting place before the designated departure time. When carpooling, please share expenses with your driver. Participants are responsible for your own lunch, refreshments and binoculars. Dress appropriately for the weather. In the event of inclement weather, please contact the leader to check the status of the outing. Non-members are always welcome.

Saturday, February 10	KFN Hike	This is the hike originally scheduled for January 13 and 20. Details will be emailed.

Saturday, March 16	Waterfowl Outing	Presqu’ile Park. Meet at the park store at 9:30 am. Bring a lunch. In the past they have burgers, hot dogs and other things to buy with money going to Friends of Presqu’ile. Leader: Derek Anderson. Back up date is March 17.

Saturday, April 20	Foraging Outing	Start time 9 am. The president of the Foraging Club of Fleming College will be focusing on the edible, medicinal and crafting aspects of foraging. Details about where to meet to follow. Backup date is Sunday, April 21.
Saturday, April 27	AGM	St James Church, 19 Bond St E, Fenelon Falls. Doors open at 4:30 and dinner begins at 5:30. Speaker is Dave Ellis.
Saturday, May 4	Outing to Cathie’s	Meet at Cathie’s, 55 Pearns Road, at 10 am. We will be looking for flowers and what other plants are growing as well as beaver activity and what birds are around. The ephemeral flowers should be out by then.
Saturday, May 11	Birding Outing	Long Beach Road and rail trail. 6:30 am. Leader: Leslie Dyment
Saturday, May 11	Nature Outing	Wild Country Disc Golf, 1157 – Hwy 121, Fenelon Falls between 9 and 11 am Leaders: Ted Glick and John Bick

Saturday, June 8	Carden Birding Outing	Meet 7:30 am at Wylie Rd and McNamee Rd. We will be visiting different places in the Carden area. If the picnic area is open by then, we usually finish off the day with a lunch there. Backup day is June 9. Leader: Eric Davis
Friday July 5, Saturday July 6	Moth Outing	This will take place at Dale Leadbeater’s. Details are on the poster sent to the membership.

Saturday, August 24	Herp Outing	Kris Starr Sanctuary. Meet at west end of Turner Road where it meets Monck Road. 9 am. Leader is Dr. Josh Feltham.

Saturday, September 14	Corn Roast	A club email will be sent out with all the info. Rain date: Sunday, September 15
Sunday, September 15	Presqu’ile Outing	Fall migrants, especially shorebirds. Meet at the sightings board at 10 am. Weather permitting. Bring a lunch. This outing will not proceed if the corn roast has to be on this day. Leader: Eric Davis
